1. What we use
BeforeToBuy.com is a comparison demo. We do not run advertising cookies on our domain. We use browser local storage to remember your choices and a signed HttpOnly essential cookie to record Affiliate consent server-side.
2. Categories
| Category | Purpose | Storage | Required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Shopping market, interface language, and consent preferences. | Market and language preferences in localStorage/cookies for up to one year; consent preferences (b2b_consent_v4, b2b_consent, b2b_consent_hint) for up to 180 days. | Yes |
| Affiliate (optional) | Enable outbound merchant links; partner stores may set their own cookies. | Third-party on merchant domains after you leave our site. | No, only with consent |
| Analytics (optional) | Datadog RUM performance monitoring to improve stability, with session replay disabled. | Datadog browser SDK when opted in; the preference is stored in consent localStorage. | No, only with consent and off by default |
3. Service providers and optional third parties
- Vercel — hosting, CDN, and server logs.
- Datadog — optional RUM and performance monitoring for the Analytics category.
- Merchant partners — affiliate tracking on merchant domains after you leave our site.
- Resend — contact-form email delivery when configured.
4. Manage your choices
You can change or withdraw consent at any time using the cookie banner or the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops optional analytics monitoring and affiliate outbound links until you accept again.
